This page contains resources for librarians and library staff.
  1. Go to https://www.avl.lib.al.us and click on the Login image of login authenticated icon icon in the top right of the webpage.
  2. Click on Switch User and log in with your AVL administrator credentials.
  3. Fill out the AVL Account request form and click on the Review Submission button.
  4. Review the information that was entered in the form and (if it is correct) click the Submit button.
  5. Give the student temporary credentials to use until their AVL account has been activated.
  6. Once the student's account has been activated, the student will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to set their password. This should occur within one week of the account request submission.

Please note that passwords are case sensitive.

  1. Are you entering your password correctly?
    Verify your password. Did you transpose i/1/I or o/O/0? Original passwords do not contain numbers. Please note that passwords are case sensitive. 
     
  2. Have you cleared your browser cache?
    Your web browser may be caching your credentials. Try clearing your browser cache before logging into AVL. See the HELP feature for your browser for more information on resetting this option.
     
  3. Do you have cookies and JavaScript enabled?
    Confirm that cookies and JavaScript are enabled. See the HELP feature for your browser for more information on resetting these options.

Temporary credentials are valid for one week and can be used until the user receives an AVL account confirmation e-mail and sets their password. The temporary credentials are case sensitive and the user must enter them exactly as they appeared on the Account Request Confirmation page (this page can be printed out for the user.) If the user does not enter the temporary credentials correctly, they will see a "Sorry, unrecognized username or password. Have you forgotten your password?" message.
